Juliana Maria Pereira
What’s your name, and how’s your path so far?
I’m Juliana, I’m Portuguese, and I have been working in Talent Acquisition and Employer Branding at GiG since 2024. I’m based in Malta. Before that, I worked as a national TV journalist in Portugal for over ten years.
Why did you apply to GiG?
I chose GiG because I felt connected to its culture of innovation, inclusivity, and authenticity. The company’s mission to shape the future of iGaming through technology and collaboration really resonated with me.
What’s the culture like at GiG?
At GiG, every voice counts. We have regular meetings with our managers where we can discuss any issues that arise, or sometimes just talk about personal goals. With our team spread across different countries, we don’t always get to meet in person, so having those dedicated moments to connect beyond work is valuable. The entire TA team works from different locations, and we keep each other connected through Slack and Google Meet. Despite the distance, there’s a strong sense of teamwork and support.
What excites you most about working in iGaming at GiG?
During my time at GiG, I’ve had the opportunity to attend major iGaming conferences such as SiGMA, SBC, and Next. Meeting talented people and listening to inspiring speakers has been eye-opening — it helped me understand the industry better and stay inspired by the creativity and innovation that drive it.
How does the TA team support candidates during the process?
We support candidates throughout the entire journey — from the moment they apply, through all interview stages, until they’re hired. We provide feedback as quickly as possible and make sure candidates feel informed and supported every step of the way.
In the first interview, I always give an overview of the role, the team, and the company — so candidates know what to expect once they join. I also share our unique benefits package.
Once new joiners start, they’re introduced to the wider team in our internal newsletter and take part in our induction program, which helps them learn more about GiG and our products before diving into their new role.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone applying here?
Prepare for the interview and do your research — not only about the role but also about GiG and the team you’d be joining. One of the projects I work on is the Article of the Month, where we share stories on our social channels about our teams, our culture, and our events. Following our social media gives you a great sense of what it’s like to work here — and what values drive us as a company.
Beyond your talent for the job, can you tell us another skill you have?
Once a journalist, always a journalist — I still enjoy writing and photography.
